The championship course countdown
Five weeks before the intended opening, a summary of what the resort has said about its new course, and of the points that remain conditional.

The resort's golf pages were updated on 30 October 2026 under the heading "Counting down to December". They describe greens being contoured, bunkers raked and fairways prepared, and they confirm that tee times for December can now be booked. This note sets out the facts as published and the places where caution is due.
Confirmed by the current golf pages
- The course has eighteen holes and is designed by the course architect Robin Gibson.
- The redevelopment is described as a $20 million transformation of the original 1982 course.
- Tee times are being taken for December 2026.
- A Tasmanian launch rate of $175 is offered for December and January only, with Tasmanian identification.
- Every green fee includes a warm-up session at The Range.
- Ricky Ponting is the course's official ambassador, and a "Champions Club" sign-up promises his hole-by-hole notes.
Conditional
The terms of the golf-and-room package are more careful than the headlines. They give 4 December 2026 as the intended opening date, "subject to condition assessment"; they guarantee at least eighteen holes for tee times but allow for some holes to be played twice if conditions require; and they make golf carts subject to availability and course conditions. A guest planning a trip around the first week should treat the date as likely rather than fixed, and should note that the package prepayment becomes non-refundable once a tee time is confirmed.
Where the sources disagree
| Source | Budget | Opening | Designer |
|---|---|---|---|
| Current golf pages (updated 30 Oct 2026) | $20 million | December 2026 | Robin Gibson |

The guide follows the current golf pages, which are the most recently updated and the most specific. The room pages appear simply not to have been revised since an earlier stage of the project.
What a first visit will look like
The resort's previews of holes 10 to 18 describe water on several tee shots, creeks, stone walls, white sand bunkers and a waterfall by the final green. The Range, which opened earlier, will act as the practice ground. The golf page lists the fees and the hole notes, and the course-side rooms are compared on the Resort rooms page.
This note will be updated once the course is open and the first tee times have been played.
